We’re looking for a visual/brand designer to bring greater consistency, recognizability, and polish to CodeWords across product and marketing. We have a strong foundation, but we need a cohesive visual language that makes CodeWords instantly recognizable - with the clarity and consistency you see in brands like Claude.
We're at a pivotal point in CodeWords' journey: we've crossed 10K users, things are moving fast, and we want the product and brand to feel as exciting as the momentum we're seeing. We care deeply about design and believe it can set us apart in a noisy AI space. We're looking for someone who feels the same way and wants to help shape how CodeWords looks and feels as we grow.
What You’ll Do
Brand & Marketing
- Build on our existing assets to create a cohesive visual brand system and define what is/isn’t “CodeWords”
- The ideal outcome is to have a unified language (color, type, iconography, illustration, motion)
- Create reusable templates for:
- Ads
- Launch assets (Product Hunt, posts, blog)
- Email templates
- Social + content thumbnails
- Event visuals and banners
- Support marketing with high-quality assets for major launches and experiments
Product
- Create in-product visuals: custom illustrations, onboarding and empty-state graphics
- Provide ad hoc UI polish and visual refinement
- Help expand our existing design system with scalable, consistent components
- Explore visual concepts for new features and assist with early-stage product explorations
How we’ll work
- Start freelance/contract with clearly scoped projects
- Collaborate closely with:
- Marketing Lead
- Product Designer
- Product Engineer
- Flexible, async-friendly workflow
Skills we’re looking for
- Strong visual design + brand system fundamentals
- Figma expertise
